Capability 05 · Govern
Intelligence that acts with oversight.

The executive problem
The moment an AI system can touch email, documents, and money, 'trust us' stops being an acceptable security model. Executive work is exactly where mistakes are most expensive and least reversible.
Most AI products bolt governance on afterward. It shows.
The IEVA approach
IEVA's prototype is inspectable end to end: human-readable Markdown as the source of truth, explicit instructions, source links, project status, and Git history for provenance — with human approval before significant decisions. Governance was the starting architecture, not a compliance retrofit.
The commercial product extends the same principles: role-based permissions, approval gates, observable tool use, source-level citations, audit history, isolated execution environments, data retention controls, memory review and deletion, policy-aware actions, and reversible operations where possible. These are design principles under active development — see the security page for what is verified today versus planned.

Example workflow: An action that waits for you
Concept workflow
- A follow-up workflow drafts a commitment email to an external partner.
- The draft arrives at an approval gate: recipient, content, and the context that produced it.
- You edit one sentence and approve. The action, the approval, and the provenance enter the audit history.
- Had you rejected it, that too would be part of the record.
What the user sees
- An approval queue where consequential actions wait, with full context.
- Observable tool use: what ran, when, against which sources.
- An audit view of actions, approvals, and memory changes.
Human control and governance
- Human authority over consequential decisions is the architecture, not a mode.
- Every principle is labeled honestly: verified behavior, design principle, or planned control.
- See the full breakdown on the security and governance page.
